Here at The Hare & Barrel we have 16 en-suite bedrooms 10 of which have been converted from the original coach house and stables. The oldest part of the hotel dates from 1806 when it was a manor house owning all the land down to the river. In the main body of the hotel you will find a comfortable lounge bar, restaurant, games room, conservatory and partially covered patio where on those rare balmy summer evenings it is a joy to sit under and relax with friends. There is also an enclosed courtyard.
Rooms All our rooms have recently been completely refurbished, providing you with the very best in comfort, and that `home from home` feeling. They range from single through to family. We also have a triple room. All the rooms have been tastefully decorated in an almost Mediterranean style. This vibrant colour, combined with an impressive courtyard, provides the ideal mood for a relaxing stay in this delightful hotel.
Dining Norfolk is renowned for its production of free range livestock, and its vast array of freshly picked vegetables grown both locally, and from the nearby Fens. Our kitchen uses only the very finest produce. Like our bedrooms, the restaurant is tastefully decorated giving it a warm friendly ambience, allowing you time to relax and enjoy your meal, perhaps with a carefully chosen bottle of wine. We can offer whites from Chile or Australia, and reds from California, Australia or Africa. For that extra special occasion, our guests can choose from a vast array of champagnes and sparkling wines.
The Hare & Barrel is noted locally, and further a field for its food. The restaurant is
open to non-residents and children are always welcome. Sunday lunches are always
very popular and it is advisable to book in advance!
