A 3 star hotel designed by the famous architect Brunel and situated in the centre of beautiful Bath close to the railway station and all of the major attractions. The hotel is privately owned and is maintained to a very high standard with all the bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas being totally refurbished during 2008. Additionally a new stylish lounge bar has been created on the ground floor - The '1846' - and the Brunels restaurant has been further enhanced with new lighting. It has a well-earned reputation for excellent food, good hospitality and value for money. Menu prices start with 2 courses for £11.50 and there is also a wide-ranging a la carte menu. The hospitality tray in the bedrooms include tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and mineral water. Complimentary cotton slippers are also provided.
Our resident General Manager, Sara Todd, is fully involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel and this personal attention extends to the restaurant, which has an enviable reputation for excellent food, specialising in "great steaks" using only British beef, and including grilled chicken, fish, vegetarian dishes and spicy Mexican Fajitas plus a daily choice of chef's specials.
There are two bars in the hotel. The 1846 which is primarily used by residents and restaurant diners. The Sports Bar, which as the name indicates has a distinctive sports theme, is very much designed around the success of the Bath rugby team and other sports. This bar is popular with local sporting enthusiasts and has a delighted “buzz”. There is an extensive range of excellent home-made bar snacks served from 12 noon to 9 p.m. daily. Both bars feature real ales in addition to the full range of other drinks.
