Steeped in history and charm this beautiful old inn has been tastefully restored to provide comfort and style. Nestling in the sleepy village of Pluckley, (incidentally the most haunted village in England), the inn is within five minutes journey of Ashford and Channel tunnel station. There is an award winning restaurant specialising in fresh fish, where all meals are prepared to order.
The Dering Arms was built in the 1840s, originally as a hunting lodge serving the Dering Estate, one of the largest estates in the area at the time. The Hunting Lodge was built as a replica of the main manor house, only to a smaller scale, and the grand façade can be seen today, featuring impressive Dutch gables. The Dering Arms has been an inn for over a hundred years.
Under my ownership since May 1984, we now have an award winning restaurant and three bedrooms which offer comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices.
